Nanny & Maternity Nurse

A Nanny is responsible for all aspects of care and childcare. Nanny duties may include but are not restricted to:

• Safeguarding and physical care of children

• Communicate with parents on all aspects of your children’s care

• Ensure your children have a nutritious and well balanced lifestyle

• Plan trips and excursions with children and outings always pre-agreed with parents

• Provide activities that support children’s development following an early years curriculum

• Prepare, sterilize and clean baby bottles+feeding equipment

• Change nappies

• Bottle feeding

• Plan and cook balanced, healthy and nutritious meals adapted to the age of the children

• Keeping the kitchen area clean and tidy

• Help with Weaning process

• Potty train the children

• Care for the children when they are ill and require medicine agreed in advance

• Bath babies and supervise the bath time with older children

• Dressing children with appropriate clothes/uniform

• Children Laundry

• Children ironing

• Shopping for children’s needs and requirements

• Responsible for the school run

• Drop off and pick to/from after school clubs

• Plan and supervise rest, bed and nap times

• Supervise/Help the children with their homework

• Tidy children’s bedrooms and play areas

• Implement daily routine

• Running errands if required
   

• A maternity nurse usually lives-in and is on duty 24 hours a day up to six days a week. However it is important that your Maternity Nurse is allowed to have sufficient rest to enable her to catch up on her own sleep. That will ensure that she is well enough to give adequate care while she is looking after your newborn. Maternity Nurse duties may include but are not restricted to:

• All duties relating to the care of mother and baby during those crucial weeks following the birth

• Care of the baby’s clothes and equipment

• Encourage and help with breastfeeding if required

• Preparation and sterilization of bottles

• Night feeds

• Provision of advice on all sorts of baby information

• Help and advice on getting the baby into a routine

• Implement feeding and sleeping routine

• Washing of baby items

• Keep the nursery and feeding equipment clean and tidy
